Netball

14 children from Badgers and Owls finally travelled to Chailey School to play the postponed netball tournament. There were 8 other schools signed up and a few nerves as the children eyed up some very tall opposition!

Wivelsfield Greens got off to a flying start winning their first 2 matches 8-0  - an amazing achievement in an eight minute game. The third match finished in a draw and match number four was their first and only loss.

Wivelsfield Blues were a little shaky and disorganised to start with, struggling to find their rhythm and despite most of the possession, struggling to convert goals. The first game was lost 2-4 but two wins swiftly followed with a thrilling win 5-2 in the third match after trailing 0-2. The group matches finished with a 1 goal defeat to Newick.

Wivelsfield Greens wins and goal difference meant they finished the group in 2nd place and had to face the winners or group B, Newick in the semi final. Unfortunately Newick once again prove a formidable opposition and we finished 3rd overall.

Fantastic afternoon of netball and wonderful to finally see the children who work hard all year at netball club get chance to play some competitive matches.
