8 talented year 3 & 4 tennis players took part in this years Road to Eastbourne Tennis festival at Weald Tennis. The children took part in some team skills games and races of which they won 2 and placed second in 2. They then split into their year groups. The year 4 children took part in doubles matches against the other schools while the year 3 children continued to demonstrate their service, rally and accuracy skills to earn points. The children showed brilliant concentration, skill and resilience and finished in 3rd place.
Tag Rugby Partnership Final
Wivelsfield travelled to Crowborough Rugby Club for a second year running to take part in the Partnership Final. The refereeing was far stricter than that we had encountered at the Chailey area competition but the children quickly picked up the tighter rules. The matches were incredibly tight and after an initial loss we went on to win 2 and draw a third match. The children produced some outstanding tries and relentless tagging. It was a pleasure to watch their game develop over the afternoon. No top placing this year but we will be back!
Netball Partnership Final Report
Wivelsfield qualified for the Wealden Partnership Netball Final for the first time ever this year. Once again the rules at this round were somewhat different to the first round and the children found themselves having to play al the different positions on court. However, as they had been practicing playing out of favourite position at netball club they were ready for anything. The girls and boys played some truly outstanding netball winning all their matches bar one which resulting in a controversial draw. Unfortunately this draw meant they missed out playing in the final on goal difference and finished in 3rd place.
