Key Information

Homework: Set on Tuesday and due in on Mondays.

Homework will typically consist of:

  • Spellings – to practise and learn. On Monday’s we will have a mini spelling quiz to test the spellings they have practised. Please encourage your child to use strategies they find most helpful.
  • Daily reading – please encourage your child to read daily and fill out their reading journals. It is your child’s responsibility to choose and change their reading books as required. The more they read the better writers they become.
  • MyMaths and/or Times Table Rock Stars – there will also be a MyMaths and or Times Table Rock Stars Activity set each week.
  • Multiplication Booklets

PE – Monday and Wednesday afternoons.

This term PE will be focussing on Netball and Football. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit in school each week and long hair must be tied up and earrings to be taped or removed, along with removing any jewellery or watches. If earrings are removed, please ensure that your child has a small pot or safe place to keep them in.

PPA – Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday afternoon I am out of the classroom for Planning, Preparation and Administration time. The class will be covered by Mrs Monahan and Mrs Wakelen.

The children are encouraged, and expected, to be the best they can be and we emphasise a positive approach and growth mindset (as illustrated above) so they continue to develop and advance in their learning. They are encouraged to take increasing ownership of their learning, vital preparation for secondary school, and continue this in their own time which will include Homework.

Children need a container of water in school every day which they can keep in the classroom.

P.E. Kits:

Must be in school everyday all week and contain a complete change of clothes with layers for when our sessions are outside; we will be continuing outside for as long as we can as the weather deteriorates – again in preparation for secondary school.

Earrings must be removed or taped up (by own tape provided from home) adults are unable to apply tape.

Long hair must be tied up at all times.
